Sturgill Simpson’s horn line, featuring Scott Frock on trumpet, Brad Walker on sax and Jon Ramm on trombone, got the attention of the local press at their recent Columbus, Ohio show. “For the first hour of Sturgill Simpson’s sold-out concert at Express Live on Wednesday, Sept. 14, it was as if the neo-country firebrand didn’t have a new album that recently hit No. 1 on the country chart.
